Vijay Arvind, MD

Physician: Dr. Vijay Arvind is a Harvard trained physician with Fellowship Training and Board Certification in Pain Management and Anesthesiology. She completed a residency in Anesthesiology at Harvard Medical School in 1999. She stayed at Harvard to complete a fellowship in Pain Management in 2000. Dr. Arvind is skilled in all aspects of interventional pain management techniques, but has particular interest in spinal cord stimulation and Rhizotomy procedures. Additionally, she is interested in Viscosupplementation (the injection of gel-like substances such as Synvisc, Hyalgan, Supartz, and Orthovisc into joint spaces to supplement the viscous properties of synovial fluid).

Certification in Pain Management. She is an anesthesiologist by training, which makes her a very well qualified Pain Management Physician. She is very empathetic and is able to treat each patient with compassion and caring that they deserve. She is well trained to handle Comprehensive Pain therapies including Narcotic Medications, Suboxone Detoxification and advanced Interventional techniques. The medication management in conjunction with interventional therapies help our patients control their pain. Our patients are monitored very closely on their appropriate usage of their prescription narcotics. We also do periodic urine toxicology screen to confirm appropriate usage of medications. INJECTION THERAPY At Cardinal Pain Center, we believe Injections should not be used in isolation, but rather in conjunction with a program stressing muscle flexibility, strengthening, and functional restoration. These injections are an adjunct treatment to medications, which facilitates participation in an active exercise program and may assist in avoiding the need for surgical intervention.
